  1. Mix cabbage thoroughly with sugar and salt, and place in a perforated, and let sit at room temperature for an hour
  2. Remove cabbage from pan, squeezing out excess liquid
  3. Mix into cabbage the mayonnaise, vinegar and celery seed
  • Note the sugar to salt ratio is 3 - 1
